According to California Highway Patrol, the erstwhile Lethal Weapon star was cruising around the seaside community Sunday night when he lost control of the blue sports car and rammed into a rocky hillside on Malibu Canyon Road.
"For unknown reasons, Mr. Gibson steered his car to the right and struck the rock hillside," read the police report. "He stopped his car at the scene and was contacted by officers from the West Valley CHP Area."
Gibson wasn't injured in the accident. According to the cops, he "supplied all the pertinent information to the officers at the scene, gave a statement, and received a ride home from a friend." Meanwhile the Quattroporte was towed from the scene.
