It's amazing what an exclamation point can do. When you report on a happy occasion such as "John Travolta and Kelly Preston welcome a baby boy!" the exclamation point is a nice touch. It hits me the wrong way when some websites use exclamation points in an unhappy situation. This week it hit me when Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz announced their split, Do we really need headlines like "Ashlee Simpson Partied It Up Days Before Split!" by Perez Hilton and "Whoa-Ashlee-Simpson-Wentz Files For Divorce" by E!? Those made me nauseous. Seriously, just report the news, don't make it look like you are jumping up and down with party favors in your hands. Show some class. Just my little opinion.......
