Holy crap. It's been a year. One year ago, I took it upon myself to see a gastroenterologist because of bleeding. I had been to the ER & seen my primary care doctor three times. They told me I has bleeding hemorrhoids. My doctor laughed when I asked about getting a colonoscopy. I wasn't getting any better. I took it upon myself to make the appointment. That gastroenterologist took about 15 seconds with a DRE to determine that I had a mass that seemed it would be cancerous. I had the colonoscopy the next day which confirmed I had cancer.
It's been an awful year. No candy coating it. You all have helped me retain a positive attitude. I'm in the middle of my current chemo treatments and I'm exhausted. I've spent most of the last few weeks in bed. My body has been through so much. I'm "hurting". But I see the finish line ahead. I see healthy and happy days. Thanks for supporting me and keeping me smiling. I love you! - Geno
